Whole Foods Hypocrisy
Over the years, Whole Foods has painstakingly built a reputation as an environmental leader which places its values above its bottom line. But is it all just green lipstick on the proverbial pig?
On its website, Whole Foods proudly touts its Green Mission, claiming: "The people who work here - from the CEO on down - are passionate about food, good health and the future of this little blue dot that we all call home."
Contrast that with the actual views of CEO John Mackey revealed in this week's New Yorker profile where Mackey repeated climate denier lies that "no scientific consensus exists" and disparaged clean energy proponents as merely trying to "raise taxes and increase regulation" based on "hysteria about global warming."
